This review will mark the Muscle Feed’s very first protein powder review. And what better product to feature than BSN’s award winning protein powder Syntha 6. If you haven’t tried Syntha 6 protein, you’re missing out. Not only is this one of the greatest tasting protein powders we have ever tried, it also contains some of the highest quality protein forms you will find in a protein powder.
The obvious flavor of choice is the chocolate milkshake. Its phenomenal! However, our review team hasn’t tried one flavor that we didn’t like.
BSN Syntha-6 features what they call a “Multi-Function Miceller Protein Matrix”. What this basically means is that Syntha-6 is going to provide a variety of different proteins that your body will absorb at different times.
First, it provides whey protein isolates and concentrates that are designed to support muscle tissue repair and growth. Whey protein forms are important because your body can digest them quickly, which is great for shrinking the amount of time between when you have broken your muscle down in exercise, to when you have started to repair that muscle.
The second form of protein that is features is casein protein. Casein protein is different than whey protein in that it digests much more slowly than whey. The great thing about this is that it will feed your muscles for several hours, providing a steady flow of amino acids and vital nutrients to your muscles.
Finally, BSN Syntha-6 also includes a blend of egg proteins. Egg proteins digest slower than whey but not quite as slow as casein (milk) protein. The great thing about egg proteins is that they are one of (if not, the) highest quality protein your body can get. The bio-availability score for protein i
s a common way to rank the quality of a protein and egg protein ranks higher than any other source of protein.
Another great thing about BSN Syntha-6 protein is that it features enzymes that help your body accept and absorb protein. Many people do not understand what a great benefit this is. Chances are, if you are lifting weights, you are trying to get as much protein as possible. Few athletes realize, however, that much of the protein they consume is not being absorbed because they are not getting enough of enzymes. Syntha-6 solves this problem by including the exact enzymes that make protein absorbtion possible. In fact, the enzymes in Syntha-6 may even help your body absorb proteins that you are getting from other sources.
BSN Syntha-6 also includes BCAAs and essential Amino Acids in higher concentrations than you would normally find in a protein powder. This is awesome, because BCAAs and amino acids like glutamine and leucine are essential for growth and recovery.
The recommended dosage for Syntha-6 is a scoop to a scoop and a half for men and one scoop for women. I recommend following this dose, and no more, because your body cannot accept too much protein at once. Oftentimes, supplement companies will encourage you to take 50-60 grams of protein after a workout. This is a ridiculous amount for most people. Several studies have shown that about 30 grams of protein is the most a male can absorb in an hour’s time.
Give Syntha-6 a try if you haven’t yet. You will definitely be impressed by the taste of it and the results that will follow.
BSN Syntha-6, 5.04 Lbs., Chocolate Milk Shake
syntha 6 is a garbage protein, bsn should be ashamed to put this crap on the market. bsn is a garbage company that only cares about advertisment not the quality of their product.
Jordan, have you actually tried this product? We haven’t come across one person besides yourself that dislikes this protein powder. If you have an actual reason or a bad experience with the product, you should give us some more detail.

SUMMARY:
While I don’t think it is a great supplement to lose weight with it certainly is a solid product for gaining muscle mass.
*lbs was calculated using BMI measurements at the beginning and ending of each period.
This is a pretty good protein. I like that it has a blend of proteins and it tastes great. I’ve only tried the cookies and cream flavour and it’s actually pretty good. It mixes really well. I’d recomend it
As far as calling this protein garbage, that’s a stretch. Protein is all in how you use it. This protein is low in calories (not the lowest) and moderate levels in other nutrients. The grams of protein per scoop is above average. The powder is not too thick or thin. I am able to use it as a meal replacement or post workout shake. I have only had to chocolate and it works for me.
Ive been using this product for 6 weeks, ive had ample results as far as muscle growth and short recovery times, but i am also using a post workout shake in conjunction with the Syntha 6 for meal additives/ replacements. Im actually on the site because i saw muscle milks protein shake for about half the price and was wondering if anybody has done a comp on these two products?
The taste is ok, but I have a couple of problems with BSN products.
1. They aren’t completeley honest in their advertising
2. They don’t give the real numbers in their protein “blend”
Advertising – they list egg as the highest bioavailable protein. This isn’t true. Expensive whey proteins that aren’t heat treated have the highest rating. Either they don’t know their stuff or they lying to sell the cheaper egg protein. Either way, it’s not exactly positive.
Blend – I thought they would list what’s in the container. Yeah it sounds good to mix all the protein sources together to get the best time release numbers. But they don’t list the percentage of each one in their mixture, which is actually a real easy thing to do. So, they aren’t completely honest with the bio-availability and the cost of different proteins has a large range in price and they don’t list the %, which one would we guess is in the product by probably a 99% to 1 margin. Yeah, me too. – probably the cheaper one. Not a terrible product but now that I know selling whey concentrates, heat filtered proteins, and “blend” proteins tend to be money scams, I will go for protein I can trust a little more. People that argue with that usually make me doubt their credibility.
look at the protein ratio you get per scoop. Its right around 50% protein per scoop. I’d have to say thats pretty crappy. Alot of BSN’s money goes to advertising and not to making quality products. Plus the protein in syntha 6 is whey protein concentrate (close to garbage). Doesnt have the WPI that it should.
